Welcome to the Copleston Church & Community Centre

Welcome to the Copleston Church and Community Centre, a space for everyone in the heart of Peckham. Every week, more than 500 people join us for activities from Thai-Chi to community singing. This multi-cultural, multi-purpose community centre grew around Copleston Church, a joint Church of England and United Reformed Church with a thriving congregation.

Built during the rapid development of south London in Victorian times, Copleston is tucked away down a side street. It's worth making the  effort to find us and try something new - you might become a regular! Many of our groups are run by local residents and some have been going for over 35 years.

Alongside the church, people of all faiths and none join in activities from Scout groups to Soca classes and drumming workshops. We also have a community space available to hire at affordable rates for events and activities.

We have looked closely at the new government guidelines relating to the new lockdown beginning on 5th November. As a Covid-secure community facility providing charitable services of therapeutic benefit, we are only able to offer a very limited service. We are currently open for counselling, art therapy and art cafe.

The latest guidance says:

Some venues will be allowed to remain open for specific exempt activities, like childcare and support groups. Support groups that are essential to deliver in person can continue with up to 15 participants where formally organised to provide mutual aid, therapy or any other form of support.

Our services for older people are being run remotely, please get in touch with us if you would like more information.

Protecting people more at risk from coronavirus

If you are over 60 or clinically vulnerable, you could be at higher risk of severe illness from coronavirus. You:

  • should be especially careful to follow the rules and minimise your contacts with others

  • should continue to wash your hands carefully and more frequently than usual and maintain thorough cleaning of frequently touched areas in your home and/or workspace

Clinically vulnerable people include those who are:

  • aged 70 or over (regardless of medical conditions)
