We are very excited to share some of the brilliant events and activities we are organising this year for our programme to celebrate Pride: Queer, Naturally: All Different, All Equal, All Welcome on Friday 11th and Sunday 13th July 🌈 We are collaborating with @saatchigallery_learning, @gowivflo and @boldtendencies as part of our programme 🌈 The programme is inspired by the Flowers exhibition at @saatchi_gallery, the Derek Jarman Garden @boldtendencies and includes guided tours, printing workshops, a special Pride Church service and a screening of Derek Jarman's film, Blue with musical accompaniment 🌈 Please see the attached flyer for more details and get in touch to find out more! 🌈 Many thanks to @southwarkcouncil for funding this programme #pride #queer #queerart #queernaturally #lgbtq #peckham #nature #flowers

Join us for our dementia friendly summer walks, learning about local history and landmarks starting on the 23rd June. These walks are open to all and are a good opportunity to keep fit, meet people and enjoy being outdoors.

Just one of the incredible dishes we have had in our community cafe this year! This was the most delicious beef stew with rice, a vibrant watercress salad, sour cream and homemade focaccia made by Woody @eatsshootsleaves_peckham (top secret shhhh, Woody is cooking again next Monday 16th June). Our cafe runs Monday and Wednesday 12.30pm-2.30pm and donations of £4-£5 welcome.

A very special day at Buckingham Palace for a garden party to recognise our London Dangoor Award which we received last year for Promoting Inclusion, recognising the church and centre's work together. It was a lovely sunny day and it was great to meet representatives from other faith communities and to hear about the incredible work they have been doing. A delicious meal prepared by Steve, one of our new volunteer chefs at the Community Cafe today. He made pumpkin rice, spiced cabbage, plantain and avocado. It was very popular and everyone really enjoyed it.

We had well over 25 people come to the church coffee morning today to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. We shared lovely food (jam tarts, cheese straws and scones), a little tipple of sherry, and some tunes from the 1940’s. At 12 noon we listened in to the service at Westminster Abbey and joined in with the 2 minutes silence. It was lovely to be together and we had a good time. The coffee morning runs every Thursday 11-12.30 and all are very welcome. #veday #veday80 #veday2025

Join the Conversation this Wednesday 14th May 12.30pm-2.30pm. We are very excited to be partnering with St Christopher’s Hospice @stchrishospice on their Spiritual Life and Intercultural Exchange (SLICE) project. This project seeks to open conversations and create spaces for learning about the many cultural and spiritual ways people approach end of life and is a wonderful opportunity for reflection, support and connection. We are hoping to host some of these conversation at Copleston so please get in touch if you would like to find out more. Today at our Community Cafe from 12.30pm-2.30pm some of the team from St Christopher's will be around to chat more about the project so please come along!

Come along and support @peckham.rye.sings for a special night fundraising for @robesproject_ a Winter Homeless Shelter that runs in different churches across Southwark and Lambeth each year (including here at Copleston) and provides vital services for some of the most vulnerable people in the community.
