Copleston at 40

Back on May 9th, 1978 the sharing agreement which created the Copleston Centre Church was signed between St Saviour's, Peckham and Hanover United Reform Church (URC).

At the same time, Copleston Centre was given the right to occupy the building. Since then, we’ve been helping to bring the community together with everything from drop-in centres to hosting birthday parties. We’re a place for young and old, diverse backgrounds, all faiths and none, and that’s worth celebrating.

We got things off to great start with our Copleston Mix event in February, followed by a week of celebrations around an anniversary service and dinner on 9th May!

In September we enjoyed another big celebration with our 40th Anniversary Annual Meeting with rousing entertainment from Begue Begue drummers, and the screening of a video celebrating our history!
