Copleston Community Cafe

Our volunteer-supported Community Cafe has been running since 2018. During lockdown, our cafe set up the Real Meals initiative working with local food outlets to offer a delivery or collection from our centre to more than 50 households - collected, delivered and served by a team of volunteers.  Our Monday cafe opening follows a successful season as a Warm Space offering hot soup and good company!

The Community Cafe runs on Mondays from 12-2pm and Wednesday from 12.30-2.30pm with menus cooked by Copleston volunteers, local chefs and businesses,  including: Ganapati; Genet's Ethiopian Feast; Maria Mills, Fully Catered; Pary Baban, Nandine; Woody Pyke, Shoots and Leaves.

The Community Cafe offers:

  • A diverse and interesting menu
  • Teas, coffee and cake
  • Opportunities to volunteer
  • A chance to meet up with friends and other people in the community
  • Cooking on a budget classes
  • Grow Your Own with South London Urban Growers (S.L.U.G)
  • Signposting - an opportunity to find out about other opportunities and services

For more information please contact ann@coplestoncentre.org.uk

We suggest a pay-what-you-can donation of £3 or £5 for our meals, but also understand that not everyone is able to meet the cost of a meal.

Grow your Own and Cooking on a Budget

Our partnership with South London Urban Growers (S.L.U.G.) includes free food-growing, occasional wild food workshops and a gardeners and growers question time. S.L.U.G. have also worked with us to develop the wonderful growing spaces at the front of the building where food is harvested for use in the community cafe.

Cooking on a Budget classes are a partnership with local restaurants and businesses, supporting people to cook healthily on a budget. The food made in the classes is served in the community cafe.
